
Commerzbank joins the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) (22/05/2023)
In April 2023 Commerzbank has joined the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) as official supporter. Our aim is to raise transparency through the disclosure of the nature-related risks and opportunities associated with our credit portfolio. The TNFD recommendations constitute the basis for consistent and comparable reporting practices on the loss of biological diversity. TNFD is guided by the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Commerzbank publishes its TCFD disclosures in its non-financial report since 2022. The disclosure of the TNFD-report will follow in 2024 accordingly in the non-financial report.

SBTi validates Commerzbank’s ambitious emissions reduction targets (30/03/2023)
Commerzbank is the first German bank with SBTi-validated CO2 emissions reduction targets. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated the Bank’s near-term CO2 emissions reduction targets for 2030. The validated SBTi targets represent a core element of Commerzbank’s sustainability strategy and its commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 in line with a 1.5-degree Celsius scenario. Non-financial report for 2022 is online (27/03/2023)
Commerzbank publishes its non-financial report for 2022 in a new layout. It provides information on the Bank's sustainability performance and its key issues: Climate change mitigation and adaptation, environmental protection and biodiversity as well as circular economy. The report is based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard and the requirements of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD). In addition, the data on the EU Taxonomy Regulation have been integrated. here

Earth Hour 2023: Together against climate change (25/03/2023)
Once again Commerzbank took part in the worldwide Earth Hour. On March 25 the lights in several buildings in Frankfurt and Berlin were turned off for one hour. Far beyond these 60 minutes the initiative strives to motivate people for a more sustainable life. Commerzbank has long been active in climate protection. New regulations on defence and surveillance technology (25/01/2023)
With the introduction of the Guideline Governing Armaments Transactions in 2008, we set clear boundaries for business and business relationships relating to the critical defence sector.
