More Equal Opportunities for Disadvantaged Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults
Children for a better World e. V.
"Children for a Better World" systematically helps around 5,000 children and young people from socially disadvantaged neighborhoods in over 60 cities through the "Explorer Program." This program combines excursions and educational activities with the systematic learning of everyday skills. Through this innovative support, the organization prepares disadvantaged children for a better future. “Poverty must not determine the future of children,” says Managing Director Cornelius Nohl. The generous support from Commerzbank enables young people to open up new perspectives and feel that they can take their future into their own hands.
Netzwerk Chancen
"Netzwerk Chancen" aims to create equal opportunities and career advancement for young talents aged 18 to 39. The organization supports over 3,000 young people from non-academic and financially disadvantaged families. The free "Netzwerk Chancen. Upward" program promotes these talents in their professional development. Managing Director Katrin Janeczka emphasizes: “We firmly believe that talent can be found everywhere, and we want everyone to have the same opportunities to pursue the path they wish to take—regardless of their social background.” Additionally, "Netzwerk Chancen" advocates for the recognition of social background as a dimension of diversity in economy and society. This has led to its inclusion as the seventh diversity dimension in the Diversity Charter.
Donation Partnership - Perspective, Together for the Future
Through these donation partnerships, Commerzbank is expanding its social engagement. This complements the funding priorities of the Commerzbank Foundation, which is active in the areas of culture, social issues, and science. By specifically supporting "Children for a Better World e.V." and "Netzwerk Chancen," Commerzbank allows society to share in its economic success and improves the starting conditions for children, young people, and young adults—especially during the transition into working life
Between 2025 and 2027, Commerzbank will donate 150,000 euros annually to non-profit organizations to support disadvantaged children, young people, and young adults. The funding will go to "Children for a Better World e.V." and "Netzwerk Chancen NC gGmbH," two institutions that particularly focus on equal opportunities and educational support.
