On 28 June 1969, queer people began to stand up against arbitrariness and discrimination for the first time in the Stonewall Inn bar on Christopher Street in New York. Since then, Christopher Street Days (CSD) have been celebrated worldwide during the so-called Pride Season to honour the rights earned and to draw attention to existing grievances.

"Never again silent" is the overarching motto of this year's CSDs in Germany. It aims to make it clear that the queer community will not be intimidated and will take to the streets for freedom and justice. These values are currently under threat by the rise of extremism and an increase in hate crimes, leading to fears and concerns.

Therefore, Commerzbank expresses solidarity and raises awareness. On the occasion of the Stonewall Memorial Day, Commerzbank will kick off Pride Season on 27 June 2025 and will create a visible sign of unity by colouring its logo and illuminating its Tower in rainbow colours until 2 August 2025. In addition, together with ARCO, its Pride employee resource group, the Bank will participate in the CSD demonstrations in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Bautzen.

"In times when fundamental values are being challenged, it is more important than ever to take a clear stand. We stand for an open and free society in which everyone is welcome, respected and protected."

"Team Yellow" reaffirm this with their motto for this year's Pride Season: "Our strongest currency: Diversity". This has been a core value for Commerzbank for many decades. This is demonstrated, among other things, by an overview of the joint activities since the founding of the ARCO employee resource group in 2002.

"Living diversity is an essential key to our long-term success as a company," stresses Fiona Briscoe. "And this applies not only to queer people, but to all employees."
