From specialist to generalist programmes, we have a wide range of options for you to prove yourself as a talented and proactive person. You can choose between lots of exciting areas, including HR, IT, Audit, Compliance and Risk – and lots more. Our range of graduate trainee programmes will let you kickstart your career in a way that suits you. During this time, you’ll have numerous opportunities to learn how we work as a bank while immersing yourself in different areas, building your own network and taking part in our events for graduate trainees. You’ll also be able to work abroad at one of our international locations. And that’s not all. As a graduate trainee, you’ll be a pay-scale employee with a permanent employment contract.

The trainee programme in Group Audit offers you the opportunity to work in an international environment and gain comprehensive insights into the processes and structures of a global corporation – from the operational level to top management. As an independent third line of defence, we audit all activities and processes of the Group with the aim of optimising them in terms of compliance, security and efficiency. Based in Frankfurt, we operate globally and have offices in London, New York, Shanghai, Sofia and Singapore. Benefit from a wide range of development opportunities; take on responsibility in the audit team or support important projects and initiatives at the bank. We offer you comprehensive training and responsible and varied tasks.
Set new standards in compliance and become part of Commerzbank's global expertise! In the 18-month Global Compliance trainee programme, you can expect exciting, international tasks in areas such as financial crime prevention, markets compliance, strategy & steering and investigation. The programme combines theory and practice and includes a stay abroad for up to three months as well as a specialisation phase that prepares you specifically for your future role. You will gain comprehensive insights into key risk types such as money laundering, corruption, fraud, sanctions and markets compliance, and step by step, you will be prepared for a responsible role in compliance.

Frankfurt will be your main location, but you will also have the opportunity to gain international experience in locations like Prague, Lodz or Sofia.

During your time as a trainee, you’ll gain insights into all key interfaces of risk management. Within 18 months, you will pass through exciting stages such as corporate client sales, structured financing, restructuring and reorganisation, and collateral management, as well as spending time abroad at one of our international locations (e.g. London, Shanghai, Singapore, New York). From day one, you will support a credit officer in their daily work, benefiting from the vast experience of our senior analysts. Your tasks will include preparing new and existing credit applications as well as conducting risk analyses for companies across different industries.
Shape the future of risk management with the Risk Control Trainee Programme at Commerzbank! This 18-month programme focuses on managing market, counterparty and liquidity risks, conducting stress tests (EBA/climate risks) and monitoring regulatory and economic risk-bearing capacities. Based in Frankfurt and supported by international branches, the programme offers varied rotations, virtual classroom training and the opportunity to work on agile, bank-wide projects. Participants will acquire in-depth knowledge of risk management, improve their methods and expand their professional network, preparing themselves for an exciting career in risk control.

Your annual salary will start from € 64,012 with a bachelor’s degree and € 69,654 with a master’s degree.
