Working in Part-time

With us, you can achieve an optimal balance between private and professional needs – from reduced working hours to job sharing. We also run a programme called “Keep in touch”, which allows you to work part-time while on parental leave. During this time, you can remain in contact with your colleagues and relevant topics. The programme runs throughout the first year after the birth of your child, making it easier for you to successfully return to work afterwards.

Mobile work - even abroad

Mobile working saves you commuting time and gives you more flexibility. With us, you can also work location-independent outside the office. We trust our teams to find the best suitable solutions for them and their clients and therefore, have not mandated fixed quotas. As part of our current arrangements, you’ll have to coordinate this with your team and manager.

You can even work remotely abroad from over 20 countries for up to 20 working days a year. We think it’s very important to cultivate a culture based on open communication: You can coordinate with your team, and you can conveniently and easily manage your working time account online.

Sabbatical

We offer you the chance to take a break or fulfil your dreams. With our sabbaticals lasting 1 to 12 months, you’ll find a suitable option for your aspirations.

Part-time leadership

As a manager, you can adjust your working hours with us to suit your needs. There are two options here: In the deputy model, you remain responsible for the disciplinary leadership of your team; and with joint leadership, two managers share a leadership position as equals.

Learning with Clix

We provide a comprehensive range of qualification opportunities for your technical or managerial career. “cliX”, our platform for self-guided digital learning, has over 450,000 videos and more than 20,000 online courses. With a wide variety of topics in the areas of business, technology and creativity, you can explore a whole new way of learning based on your interests and needs in over 20 different languages. To support you in this, we offer all employees the chance to use up to 8 working hours per quarter to learn something new.

Development dialogue

You’ll attend regular development dialogue with your manager to discuss your qualifications, skills and possible next steps. You’ll document your goals and measures to push you in the right direction. You’ll present your experience and career goals in a talent profile to make your skills more visible and actively shape your future.

Management Experience

If you’d like to get a taste of leadership, this is the right programme for you. The relevant job postings are marked in our online portal and will allow you to take on a management position for a limited period of 3 to 12 months.

IT@Home - IT leasing

As a Commerzbank employee, you can lease a wide range of high-quality electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, notebooks and accessories for your private use through our company. The bank will deduct the cost of the monthly leasing instalments from your gross salary, and you’ll enjoy certain tax benefits. With a term of 24 months, you’ll always have the latest technology at your fingertips.

As a Commerzbank employee, you can easily afford all of this because you’ll enjoy special terms and conditions – and so will your relatives. Capital-forming benefits

We’re happy to help you generate wealth with capital-forming benefits in the form of € 40 gross per month. You can either pay this into an existing plan or benefit from our special terms and conditions for employees.

Mobility grant and job ticket

You can stay on the move with our mobility grant of € 20 / month, which is exempt from tax and social security contributions. This means that the DB Deutschland-Ticket will only cost you a maximum of € 29 / month. Of course, you can also use it for private travel. And thanks to the DB Job-Ticket, you’ll be able to purchase discounted long-distance train tickets from Deutsche Bahn for your commute.

Bikelease - the bicycle leasing

Good for your health and good for the environment: Stay mobile with a leased bicycle or e-bike of your choice. You can also take advantage of current tax benefits, because the leasing instalments will be deducted affordably from your gross income. You can even lease a racing bike or cargo bike. So choose a model and get cycling.

Bank car leasing

Do you like to travel by car? If so, we’ve got a great offer for you. If your salary is above the pay scale, you can lease a top vehicle through our company. With full service. You can choose your car from a selection of pre-configured electric and diesel vehicles. As the payment will be made from your gross salary, there are also tax benefits in it for you.

Advice in difficult situations

If you ever need support in difficult professional or personal situations, you can use our “Employee Assistance Programme” (EAP). The team of highly trained psychosocial experts will be happy to answer your calls and emails 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They’ll provide you with professional advice and work with you to find solutions to various problems such as burnout, conflicts at work, relationship struggles or even addiction issues. You can make appointments at any time to help you overcome your problems.

Childcare support

Parents can work with peace of mind when their children are well looked after. Your children will be in good hands at the facilities run by the “pme family service” – from crèches to daycare centres and even holiday clubs. You can make use of the childcare services for holidays and exceptional circumstances 20 days a year per child – free of charge. In addition, we’ll subsidise your childcare costs and provide you with practical information. You’ll receive competent advice in various areas such as childcare places and costs.

Caring for relatives

Are you looking after relatives in need of care? We’ll help you out as best we can. A short-term leave of absence of up to ten working days will help you organise appropriate care. In addition to the legally guaranteed ten working days, you can use another five days from your flexitime credit hours to care for your loved ones. We also offer competent advice and support via a 24/7 hotline and with information events and workshops on the topic of care.

Our company doctors will help you with issues related to your health – from occupational health check-ups to healthy workplace set-ups. You can contact our experts in confidence – with full medical confidentiality. Many consultations are offered in person, virtually and via our hotline.

Learn about health

You can expand your knowledge of health topics through various events, lunch & learns and expert talks. Our healthcare providers run free online platforms where you can find information on a wide range of topics – from exercise and healthy sleeping habits to stress management and resilience.

You can do something for your health whenever and wherever you like: We offer videos with practical exercises for the office and at home to suit your needs. In addition to 5-minute units for shoulders, neck and mindfulness, you can also access longer exercise videos (e.g. for yoga).

Company sports

Sport brings people together. We have around 130 company sports clubs, where more than 6,000 members take part in over 50 sports across the country. They also organise regular tournaments among themselves.

Burnout and addiction support network

Getting help and sharing experiences is not taboo for us. Quite the opposite – it takes courage to open up, be it about topics such as mental health and burnout or addiction. The most effective help you can get is from people who have been through the same things themselves. This is what makes the members of the burnout and addiction support network expert contacts who talk to those affected on an equal footing. The service is also available to the managers and colleagues of those affected, who can engage in confidential conversations and learn about preventive measures.

Retirement provision

As we want you to relax with financial security in your retirement, we offer a company pension plan with the best possible provisions. And it’s twice as nice: Firstly, the Versicherungsverein des Bankgewerbes (BVV) provides comprehensive old-age, disability and survivors’ benefits. We split the monthly contributions. Secondly, you’ll receive benefits from the bank’s direct commitment. You can choose to have these paid out as a lump sum or in nine annual instalments. And there’s even more good news: You won’t incur any costs for this.

Additional personal provisions

It’s always a good idea to make your own financial provisions. In addition to the basic pension plan provided by the BVV and the bank’s own direct commitment, we’ll give you the option of making voluntary personal provisions. Our partners offer various deferred compensation plans with a range of tax benefits, for example direct insurance. You can also insure yourself against occupational disability and other risks. In addition, we’ll supplement the statutory accident insurance coverage with voluntary group accident insurance. This insurance also applies to certain accidents outside the workplace.

Additional sick pay

Some illnesses last longer than we’d like. Under certain conditions, we’ll give you an additional amount on top of your sickness benefits or transitional allowance. This applies to both pay-scale employees and non-pay-scale employees, regardless of whether they have statutory or private health insurance. This means that you’ll receive the best care even in difficult situations.

Provident fund
