Audit supports the Board of Directors and the management of the Bank through independent and risk-oriented audits of all internal processes, controls, products and systems. The goal is to identify potential risks at an early stage and to define targeted measures in order to minimise them. Whether in the headquarters in Frankfurt or in the offices in London, New York or Singapore: It enables exclusive insights into all business segments of the Bank to guarantee a comprehensive end-to-end view of the Bank and its products. With a risk-oriented approach and agile work methods, specialised knowledge is linked with audit expertise in order to play a decisive role in shaping the future of the Bank. The goal is to detect and manage significant risks at an early stage. In addition to the bank-wide audit activities, projects/initiatives are supervised or internal workflows are optimised in the Audit Group including the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence.
As a mirror of the Bank, the individual audit areas offer a large variety of different topical viewpoints and development perspectives.

Compliance provides advice to the Bank on laws and regulations in the field of anti-money laundering, terrorism financing and sanctions. Here, policies and standards are published and implemented, risk analyses performed and compliance programmes created. The Compliance team informs and monitors segments, branches and subsidiaries with reference to relevant statutory changes. In addition, it supports operative units during the risk assessment and prevention and is instructed to make adjustments of the internal specifications to comply with statutory requirements.
Global Financial Crime Prevention supports tasks in regard to the risk types of anti-money laundering, combating terrorism financing, sanctions and embargos and consideration of human rights and environment-related risks.
Global Markets Compliance is responsible for early detection of market compliance risks during the provision of security investment services, ancillary security investment services and cryptoservices in order to protect the integrity of the bank.
Global Strategy and Steering is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of general risk type compliance topics and develops the strategy and control of compliance including cost control and business management.
Global Investigations and Reviews has the responsibility for the regulatory jurisdiction for the implementation and control of internal special investigations.
International Compliance manages compliance risks in the international locations and implements group-wide standards.
Regional Compliance UK and America is responsible for the compliance risks at the London and New York locations.
Global Financial Crime Prevention Platform and Global Markets Compliance and Steering Platform provide IT platforms to support the risk coverage and risk processes.

Legal advises the Bank and its subsidiaries on matters from contract negotiations to judicial enforcement or defence of claims. Experts for the important legal areas of the core business of the Bank control and monitor legal risks, assume responsibility for legal issues and draw up contracts and transactions in a legally compliant manner.
Corporate/Supervisory law is an area responsible for the topics of corporate law, M&A, investments, capital market law, cartel law, deposit protection, banking supervision law, and EU state aid law.
Technology, Data & Infrastructure focuses on IT law, data protection and data protection law, group purchasing, trademark law, press law, sponsoring, insurance law, competition law and foreign trade law, foreign governmental enquiries, banking secrecy and building law and tenancy law.
Account Management/Payment Transaction Sales supports the corporate, private and business clients segments with legal issues regarding marketing and product concerns including asset management, inheritance law and entrepreneurial holdings.
Capital Market Infrastructure bundles the expert knowhow with regard to OTC derivatives, securities transactions, securities deposit law and stock exchanges.
Loans includes giving advice for legal issues concerning the lending and guarantee business and are central legal contacts for the foreign branches in Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, Nordic Center, Paris, Vienna and Zurich.
Financing is divided into the three departments of "syndicated financing", "bonds" and "restructurings" and assumes the provision of legal advice concerning these topics.
Labour law includes the provision of legal advice on individual labour law issues, Board of Directors and Supervisory Board topics including the Board of Directors remuneration system and the company pension scheme.
Supervisory Board Management supports the Supervisory Board on legal and organisational tasks and issues; it is the interface for internal bank divisions on topics of the Supervisory Board, assumes the review of legal issues for the Supervisory Board and is the contact for the Supervisory Board members.
London, New York and Singapore are each responsible for advice and support for all legal Issues concerning the respective location.
