With climate friendly company bikes through Frankfurt (9 September 2014)

Annual General Meeting’s CO2-emissions compensated (21 July 2014)
Compared to previous years, Commerzbank was able to significantly reduce the CO2-emissions of its Annual General Meeting 2014. The remaining and unavoidable carbon dioxide emissions in the amount of 387 tons were balanced by the purchase of certificates of the projects ArBolivia and MoorFutures. more
Philippines: Reconstruction after typhoon Haiyan (2 July 2014)
Seven month after devastation caused by Haiyan in the Philippines there is still a lot of reconstruction work to do. An appeal for donations made to “Aktion Deutschland Hilft” by Commerzbank led to more then 544,000 Euro. Donations from clients and staff that are urgently needed for a long-term safeguarding of peoples basic needs. more
10,000 steps for health (10 June 2014)
In 2014, Commerzbank participates with a total of 819 employees in the Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), a worldwide initiative to promote physical exercise behaviour. Participants wear a pedometer to measure their physical activity for a period of 100 days. While the average office worker walks 3,000 steps per day, one should walk 10,000 steps a day for a healthy lifestyle. more

On 3 June 2014, the second German Diversity Day was held. Commerzbank offered employees the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about the subject of diversity. For this purpose, representatives of employee networks, the work council, severely disabled employees, company sports and the diversity team were available as conversational partners. Commerzbank London and the Prince’s Trust – one year for young people (26 May 2014)

Cycle to work - Commerzbank is a pioneer in bicycle leasing (21 May 2014)
Commerzbank has developed an innovative bike leasing offer for their employees. As one of the first companies Commerzbank offers its employees the opportunity to use bicycles, pedelecs and other e-bikes within a tax-optimized leasing model. In this way, the bank wants to prompt more employees to switch over from the car to the bicycle. more

Start of the Commerzbank environmental internship (13 May 2014)
Over the next three to six months, 51 students from Germany and abroad support conservation areas from Mt. Watzmann to Wadden Sea. For almost 25 years, the Commerzbank environmental internship enables interested students to combine their passion for nature with practical experience in environmental protection.
Support for employees with dependent family members (09 May 2014)
Commerzbank will support its employees who need to care for family members even more strongly in the future. Affected employees at the head office in Frankfurt can have their dependants be examined by a team of doctors in a geriatric check-up free of charge. Furthermore, there is a day care arrangement that predominately admits relatives with dementia. The so-called “SOS caregivers” provide support back home if there is a need for immediate assistance.

Three peregrine falcons hatched out (29 April 2014)
For the eighth year in a row, Commerzbank rejoices over falcon offspring in the 67th floor, almost 260 metres above the ground. As peregrine falcons need high-lying breeding sites, Commerzbank's headquarter provides ideal conditions. The falcon offspring will spend the next four to six weeks on the headquarter’s roof and then leave their familiar territory.

Symbolic act for climate protection (29 March 2013)
Commerzbank again took part in the global Earth Hour campaign by switching off the lights at selected locations in Frankfurt, Berlin and London for one hour at 8.30pm on 29 March.

Defining the limits of our business activities (26 February 2014)
In 2013 Commerzbank's Reputational Risk Management department analysed more than 2,800 enquiries related to loans, investment products or client relationships that particularly affect sustainability. About 10 percent received a negative evaluation owing to social, environmental or ethical concerns.

Sports clubs have until 31 March 2014 to send their applications for the prize 'green band': Commerzbank and German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) again award 50 sports clubs that demonstrate excellence in nurturing young talent with € 5,000 prize money each.

Another award for 'WikIdee' (2 January 2014)
German trade journal Human Resources Manager has also bestowed its Excellence Award 2013 on Commerzbank's ideas platform in the knowledge management category. The panel of judges was particularly impressed with the cooperative way in which employees can discuss suggestions for improvements and work out solutions for problems.
Commerzbank staff make Christmas wishes come true (2 January 2014)
In 2013, Commerzbank employees from its Frankfurt office continued the tradition of giving Christmas presents to disadvantaged children, young people and carers in children's homes or other social care institutions. Individually, or working in teams, they made more than 100 special wishes come true. The presents were carefully wrapped and handed over in good time for Christmas.
