Southeast Africa: Emergency relief after cyclone Idai
Cyclone Idai - one of the worst weather disasters hit by the southern hemisphere - destroyed large parts of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi on March 14, 2019. Many villages are cut off from the outside world. Electricity and communications networks have collapsed. According to recent UN estimates, around 11.5 million people are affected by the disaster, 2.1 million people are homeless and have lost everything. Many villages are still cut off from the outside world. Every day increases the risk of epidemics. Care is now mobilizing emergency aid in all three countries in close coordination with other aid actors, governments and the UN.
Help is urgently needed! To customers and employees, who would like to support Care’s work in Indonesia, we recommend the following donations account.
